I want to wish a warm welcome to all the delegates and participants of the 37th Racing Pigeon Olympiad. I am proud that Romania is the host this year, we can send a friendly greeting to the fanciers that came from over 30 countries of Europe, Southern America, Northern America, Asia and Africa.
People’s messenger of hope, racing pigeon was thousands of years the most important way of communication at a distance, and after 1900 it was a reliable ally of the armed forces.
I am happy to note that, more than ever in our history, Romanian pigeon fanciness has become a point of reference worldwide. The organization of this international pigeon fancier event represents a well-deserved recognition of the selection efforts made by Romanian fanciers.
Congratulations to the Romanian pigeon fanciers for the exceptional results they have achieved in recent years and, equally, my respect to the leadership of the Romanian National Federation of Fanciers for organizing this extraordinary event!
I also want to thank the International Pigeon Fanciers Federation for the opportunity offered Romania to host this large-scale event.
I conclude by wishing all the participants of the Racing Pigeon Olympiad a pleasant stay in Oradea, this city-symbol of Romania’s modernization, and much success in the activity they carry out!
